Description	:	Cyrus Monson Jr., was born to Cyrus and Mable Nelso Monson March 10, 1922 at Irwin, Iowa and died in a car accident north of Harlan, Iowa March 5, 1957 at the age of 34 years, 11 months and 26 days. He graduated from the Irwin Consolidated Schools in 1939, and was active in the civic affairs as past president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Shelby County Saddle Club. Mr Monson was station agent for the C.N.W. R.R. at Audubon, Woodbine and Halbur, and a insurance agent and manage of a furniture store until he... He graduated from the Irwin Consolidated Schools in 1939, and was active in the civic affairs as past president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Shelby County Saddle Club. Mr Monson was station agent for the C.N.W. R.R. at Audubon, Woodbine and Halbur, and a insurance agent and manage of a furniture store until he established two nursing homes with his mother in Irwin. He was married to Arlene Jensen October 22, 1950 and to this union twin daughters, Lerma and Lana were born. He is survived by his wife, Arlene: twin daughter, Lerma and Lana, his mother, Mrs Mable Monson, a brother, Edwin and two sisters, Alma Warddrip of Des Moines and Mrs Alfred Paulsen of Harlan. He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1937. Funeral services were held March 8, 1957 at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Irwin with the Rev Lyle Paulsen officiating. Burial was in the Danway cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Rixen, William, Lewis, Wilfred Jensen, Robert Larson, Euqene Spiker and Robert McDonald. Harlan Tribune Harlan, Iowa March 22, 1957
