Description	:	Mrs. Louisa Linebrink, one of Defiance county's pioneers, who came to Defiance in the early 40's, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Justice, in Stryker, at the age of 93 years. She was an unusually well preserved and long lived woman and a splendid specimen of the sturdy, hardy early settlers who first peopled this section of country. Read More	Mrs. Louisa Linebrink, one of Defiance county's pioneers, who came to Defiance in the early 40's, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Justice, in Stryker, at the age of 93 years. She was an unusually well preserved and long lived woman and a splendid specimen of the sturdy, hardy early settlers who first peopled this section of country. Most of her life after reaching Defiance County was spent in Tiffin Township, where she was well known and highly respected. A few years since she moved to Stryker where she resided alone and did her own housework until about four weeks ago at which time she became ill and was taken to her daughter's home to be cared four until death claimed her. She has been twice married. Her first husband's name was Shepmire by whom she had four children. Her second husband was Ludwig Linebrink to whom four children where born. Her second husband has been dead several years. Four children survive her who are Mrs. William Rath; Mrs. Michael Rath; Mrs. Randall, of Garrettsville, Portage county, O.; Mrs. S.A. Justice, of Stryker. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. John's M. E. church in Tiffin Township, conducted by Reverend Dobbrick, of the German M.E. church of Defiance. She was a member of that church for about eighty years. Interment in cemetery near that church. . -Defiance Daily Crescent, September 26, 1901 --------------------------- Mrs. Louisa Linebrink (nee) Hoskman was born in Price Minden, Germany Sept. 15th, 1810, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Justice, in Stryker. O. Sept. 22nd 1901, aged 91 years and 7 days. She was united in marriage to Frederick Shepmire in the year 1836 and they came to America the same year settling in Defiance county, where Mr. Shepmire died in 1842. In 1850 she was united in marriage to Ludwig Linebrink who died in 1883. To this union seven children were born. Four preceded the mother to her heavenly home. She leaves two sons, one daughter, forty-three grand-children and twenty-nine great-grandchildren to mourn her departure. In spite of Grandmother Linebrink's advanced age, she was able to do her own housework until eight months ago, when she decided to lay aside the cares of life and spend her remaining days with her daughter. She united with the German M.E. church over seventy years ago and continued to live as a devoted Christian until her death. The funeral was held at the St. John's church on Wednesday, Sept. 24th and she was buried in the Evansport cemetery. -The Bryan Democrat, September 26, 1901.
