Description	:	When friends of Mrs Daisy Pinkerton, 70, of New Market did not see her usual activity Friday morning, investigations disclosed that she had died sometime during the night while in her bed. The door to the home had to be forced open. She had been doctoring for heart ailment, and her death thus was not surprising. The funeral is being held Monday afternoon at the Walker Funeral Home. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, May 29, 1944 Daisy D. Abbott, daughter of Isaac Warren and Margaret E. Abbott, was born near New Market March 4, 1874. The family moved to New Market a few years later, where she grew to womanhood. She was married in 1902 to Samuel McClure of Braddyville. Following his death a few years later, she moved to New Market. In 1916 she was married to Alex G. Pinkerton of College Springs, making their home in this community. Mr Pinkerton died in 1931. During the past two and a half years she had made her home in New Market where death came to her very suddenly at her home Friday, May 26, 1944. She had lived an earnest Christian life, and always took an active part in the church and social life of the community. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 29, at the Walker Funeral Home in Clarinda, conducted by Rev Harry Walling, pastor of the Methodist church in New Market, and REv A.G. Abbott of Quanah, Texas. Burial was in Memory cemetery. She is survived by four brothers, Frank W. Abbott of Florence, Colorado, Waldo L. Abbott of Loveland, Colo., Rev A.G. Abbott of Quanah, Texas, George A. Abbott of Los Angeles, one sister, Mrs Mary Gardner of Wichita, Kansas.
