Daisy Dee Hummel was born in Trenton, Nebraska on March 23,1907. She moved to Alberta in 1917 along with her parents; one brother, Merle; and two sisters, Ruth and Edith. Two other siblings, Robert and Mabelle were born in Canada. After completing Grade 11 in Milk River, she went to Spokane, Washington. Read More	Lethbridge Herald November 23, 2002 DAISY DEE DITTBENNER, beloved wife of the late Clarence Dittbenner, passed away in Milk River on November 20, 2002, at the age of 95 years. Daisy Dee Hummel was born in Trenton, Nebraska on March 23,1907. She moved to Alberta in 1917 along with her parents; one brother, Merle; and two sisters, Ruth and Edith. Two other siblings, Robert and Mabelle were born in Canada. After completing Grade 11 in Milk River, she went to Spokane, Washington. Following Grade 12 graduation, Daisy returned to Canada and married Clarence Dittbenner, on June 16, 1925. Daisy and Clarence worked side by side to make their farm productive. In 1960, they sold the farm and moved into Milk River. Although Clarence and Daisy had no children of their own, their many nieces and nephews were very special to them. Clarence passed away in 1994 and Daisy continued to live in her own home until the age of 91 when she moved into Prairie Rose Lodge. She was a gardener, canning much of her own produce; an accomplished seamstress, a quilter and an expert at other handwork. She was a friendly, kind and practical person. Daisy is survived by her brother, Robert (Beth) Hummel; her sisters, Ruth (Archie) Doty and Mabelle Fleming; her aunt, Helen Davenport; numerous nieces and nephew; and special friend, Mary Dobrocane. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Clarence; her parents, Frank and Mabelle; brother, Merle (Gen) Hummel; sister, Edith (Ed) Loft; nephews, Stan Fleming, Mark Hummel, and Erwin Kihn; brothers-in-law, Albert Kihn, William Lees, and Robert Fleming.
