Both of these obituaries gave her maiden name as Schaffer. I believe that Shaffer is the correct spelling. Obituary From "Fairfield Ledger," Wednesday, October 27, 1971: Mrs. McClure, Batavia, Dies BATAVIA–Mrs. Daisy E. McClure, 81, died at her Batavia home early Tuesday. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Charles F. Smith Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa. Mrs. McClure made her home in Ottumwa for 58 years before moving to the Batavia area five years ago. She was born May 21, 1890, in Wapello County, the daughter of Charles and Lucy Pilcher Schaffer. She was married to Clyde A. McClure in 1907. Mrs. McClure is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Will Taylor, Batavia Route 1; and a son, Harold McClure, Waukegan, Ill. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Mrs. Roxie Jones, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Viva Trout, Cedar Rapids. Mrs. McClure was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ottumwa, Milwaukee Women's Club and DUV. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, four brothers and two sisters.
