Description	:	Death came to Mrs. Daisy Patten last Thursday afternoon at her home south of Brooklyn. Mrs. Patten, 87, had lived in the same community near Brooklyn all of her life. In poor health for the past three years, she had been cared for by her daughter, Gladys. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at Bramer Funeral Home with George Watters of eastern Iowa officiating. Mrs. Ed Bartachek, organist, accompanied Vernon LeMaster of Clarksville, singing, "Only One Life" and "When Life Is Ended." Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Max Bowman of LuVerne, Minn., Jack Bowman of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., Dean Patten of Lincoln, Neb., Don Keefe of Oskaloosa, Bruce Patten of Brooklyn and C. Robert Niemann of St. Charles, Mo. In charge of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Brannian and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gross. Daisy Patten, daughter of Joseph and Mabel Orr, was born September 5, 1876, and died October 3, 1963. On April 4, 1899, she was married to Alfred Patten and six children were born to the couple. They are Gladys, at home; Howard Patten and Jack Patten of Brooklyn; Virgie Patten of northern Illinois; Harry Patten of Maquoketa and Mrs. Earnest (Ruth) Bowman of Pine Bluffs, Wyo. She is survived by her children; 12 grandchildren, Mrs. C. Robert (Shirley) Niemann; Max, Dale, Mark, and Jack Bowman; Dean Patten; Wayne and Don Keefe and Ellen, Bruce, Gene, and Faye Patten. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Lillie Hall of Guernsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and four brothers.
