She died Jan. 1, 1986. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in Europe with Patton's 3rd Army, and received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a farmer in South Dakota moving to Ames in 1970 where he worked at Iowa State at Animal Science Teaching Farm. Dale was a member of the Story City American Legion, lifetime DAV, and enjoyed jig-saw puzzles and tinkering around. Dale is survived by a son, two daughters, five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys; and three brothers: Frederick, Chester, and one in infancy. The Lennox Independent - Jan/10/2008 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dale D.
