He was born August 29, 1919, at Lexington, Nebraska to John H. and Rena (Tullis) Walston. Dale attended school at Lexington. He was united in marriage to Virginia Leonard on April 3, 1942, at Ventura, California. One daughter was blessed to this marriage, Barbara. He was born August 29, 1919, at Lexington, Nebraska to John H. and Rena (Tullis) Walston. Dale attended school at Lexington. He was united in marriage to Virginia Leonard on April 3, 1942, at Ventura, California. One daughter was blessed to this marriage, Barbara. Dale's working career included being a truck driver and delivery person for 15 years, Mead Lumber for 16 years and Orthman Manufacturing for 8 years, retiring in 1981. He and Virginia enjoyed spending the winters down south in their 5th wheel camper. They traveled to Texas, Arizona and California. Over the years, while on vacation, they would spend time traveling the entire United States. Dale especially loved going to Ainsworth, Nebraska to the Country Music Festival. He enjoyed life and people and looked forward to meeting his friends at the coffee shop, playing cards and working puzzles. He loved living in a small town. Dale was a member of Lexington Christian Church and served as Assistant Treasurer, Deacon and head usher. He was a 35 year member of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors include one daughter: Barbara Burk & Don Smith of Elwood, Nebraska. Four grandchildren: Brandi Riese of Phoenix, AZ; Jami (Kasey) Burrows of Texas; Linsey Burk of Elm Creek, NE; and Charli Burk of Tempe, AZ. Dale was also survived by four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia on October 22, 2011; two brothers, Faye and Johnnie; and two sisters, Norma Woodside and Veryl Spiegel. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Christian Church with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
