Description	:	Dale Marquardt, 11 years old, died Thursday afternoon from an accident at the farm home southeast of Meadow Grove. "Dale, a good horseman for his age, had gone to the field to take in a workhorse for his father. Riding the animal, he in some manner, became entangled with the harness and the horse, running, threw and dragged him. They rushed him to Battle Creek then tried to reach Norfolk for help but the injured boy died of skull fracture and bodily bruises enroute." "Dale was a healthy, energetic lad and had a happy disposition. He attended school at Battle Creek and lately completed the seventh grade." He was survived by his parents, 5 brothers: Harold at Birds' Landing, California; Lester at home, Marvin at Chadron, Kenneth and Everett at home; his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
