Dale was born August 25, 1924, in Northwood, Iowa to Arthur and Ruth Abbli Shepley. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Walker on July 3, 1946, in Baxter. Dale was born August 25, 1924, in Northwood, Iowa to Arthur and Ruth Abbli Shepley. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Walker on July 3, 1946, in Baxter. Dale served in the United States Navy from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the Cambridge Legion. Dale worked for John Deere in Ankeny as a machinist for 37 years and enjoyed raising livestock. He never met a stranger and loved good conversation. Dale is survived by his sons, David Shepley of Council Bluffs, Gary (Judy) Shepley of Cambridge and Craig (Roylene) Shepley of Boone; his daughter, Connie (Rex) Baker of Huxley; his grandchildren, Corey Shepley, Angie Mackerman, Monica Comstock, Genny Shepley, Cybil Hines, Rachel Baker, Mitch Baker, Sarah Hayes and Brooke Tunink; 25 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Blaine (Carol) Shepley of Georgia, Neil Shepley of Monroe and Delbert (Judy) Shepley of Colfax; his sisters, Helen Smith and Delores Nichols both of Colfax. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2005; a grandson, Noel Shepley in 2012; a brother, Jack; and two sisters, Iris and Gladys. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday also at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Lee officiating. Dale will be laid to rest in the Cambridge Cemetery.
