Description	:	Dale Tanner Osborne died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Faith Regional Health Services. Dale was born December 13, 1925 the son of Lonnie and Ella (Ward) Osborne at Battle Creek, Nebraska. Dale graduated from Battle Creek (NE.) High School in 1944, and was inducted into the Army Air Corps in August 1944. Tours of duty included, Europe. Alaska and Panama, he reached the rank of Technical Sergeant, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force July 6, 1965. He returned to Battle Creek and was engaged in farming. He liked to attend the annual Air Force reunions and kept... Read More	Dale Tanner Osborne died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Faith Regional Health Services. Dale was born December 13, 1925 the son of Lonnie and Ella (Ward) Osborne at Battle Creek, Nebraska. Dale graduated from Battle Creek (NE.) High School in 1944, and was inducted into the Army Air Corps in August 1944. Tours of duty included, Europe. Alaska and Panama, he reached the rank of Technical Sergeant, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force July 6, 1965. He returned to Battle Creek and was engaged in farming. He liked to attend the annual Air Force reunions and kept in touch with many of those friends. He lived in the house by the City Park and raised one of the best gardens in town, sharing his produce with family and friends. He spent countless hours working with the Friends of the Park on Park's of Pride projects. In 2005 he moved into Community Pride Care Center where he posted the daily weather stats and enjoyed teasing the staff. He always loved to walk, sometimes up to 10 miles a day; at age 87 still walked the park trails for 2 miles every day. Dale is survived by 12 nephews and nieces including John Schroeder of Battle Creek and Jo Schroeder Stanley of Lincoln. Dale was preceded in death by: parents and siblings; Zenna (George) Schroeder, Lonnie Ward Osborne, Robert Osborne, Delmer (Lila) Osborne, Bonnie (Gene) Carr and Becky (Delbert) Osborne. Private family services for Dale T. Osborne, will be at a later date. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
