Description	:	Dallas W. Schear, 87, of Alexander, Iowa, passed away Oct. 29, 2013, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. Dallas was born in the Geneva area to Thomas and Lorena (Becker) Schear on March 10, 1926. He served in the United States Army during WWII graduating from the Geneva school shortly after that. Read More	Dallas W. Schear, 87, of Alexander, Iowa, passed away Oct. 29, 2013, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. Dallas was born in the Geneva area to Thomas and Lorena (Becker) Schear on March 10, 1926. He served in the United States Army during WWII graduating from the Geneva school shortly after that. Dallas was joined in marriage with Haroldine Walsh on March 15, 1944. Mr. Schear had been a long time resident of Alexander where he operated a service station from 1955 to 1972 then began working for Franklin County as part of its road maintenance department until his retirement. In addition to employment he was involved in various community and church activities and organizations. His greatest passions in his retirement were his grandchildren, fishing, woodworking and caring for his wife, Haroldine. He is survived by his wife Haroldine of Alexander, daughter Barbara Elaine Hatley of Tennessee, son Rodney Schear of Denver, Colorado, son Thomas Schear of Alexander, daughter Marceen Lass of Texas, sister Leola Johansen and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Robert and Donald) and sister (Barbara). Burial will take place at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Geneva, Iowa ∼Son of Thomas and Lourena Becker Schear. Married 15 Mar 1944 to Haroldine Walsh. Military Service: WWII
