Description	:	Daniel August Timm was born Aug. 24, 1867, to Daniel Timm and his wife Wilhelmine Meier in the small village of Eichfelde, just outside Wirsitz, then in the German province of Posen. Now Wirsitz is a town in Poland called Wyrzysk. His parents died when he was still a child. In 1881 he left Germany for America with his aunt Caroline Meier. Read More	Daniel August Timm was born Aug. 24, 1867, to Daniel Timm and his wife Wilhelmine Meier in the small village of Eichfelde, just outside Wirsitz, then in the German province of Posen. Now Wirsitz is a town in Poland called Wyrzysk. His parents died when he was still a child. In 1881 he left Germany for America with his aunt Caroline Meier. Daniel at first lived with and worked for his uncle Carl Meier (or Meir). Later he attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. After his graduation in 1893 he married Regina Niebuhr and they moved to Bern, Kansas, where he served as a pastor in the Lutheran church. Due to health reasons, he gave up the ministry and took up farming. He and his wife had nine children, two of whom died as small children when they lived in Sawyer County, Wisconsin. From Wisconsin they moved to Redwood County, Minnesota, and finally to the farm in Washington County, Nebraska, where Regina had grown up. There Regina died in a house fire in 1952 along with their son Walter. Daniel managed to escape the fire and lived to be 100 years old. From a Minnesota newspaper clipping: Daniel Timm, 100, Buried in Nebraska Funeral services were held December 19 at Immanuel Lutheran church near Hooper, Neb., for Daniel August Timm, 100-year-old father of area residents, who died December 16 in Linn, Kans. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Edwin Timm of Milroy, Merlin Timm of Brownton, Allan Altermatt of St. Joseph, Mo., Lawrence Altermatt and Wayne Altermatt of Wanda, and Robert Ohlde of Linn. Mr. Timm was born August 24, 1867, in Germany. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Louise Altermatt, Wanda, Mrs. Martin (Gertrude) Ohlde, Linn, and Erna Timm, Fremont, Neb.; sons, Paul Timm, Wabasso, and Herbert Timm, Brownton; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Gusta Lange, Lamberton.
