Description	:	PASSING OF DAN BRESLIN The following letter from the Gold Hunter Mining and Smelting Co., of Mullen Idaho tells of the manner of the fatal accident when the life of one of our worthy citizens was snuffed out. "Dan Breslin has been employed here since Nov. 11, 1924, handling timber to the various places where it is used in the mind. Yesterday, he and his partner, Joe Uria took a truck load of 5 timbers from the Brennan Raise Station on No. 5 tunnel over to the No. 5 shaft, which is exclusively used for lowering supplies to the two levels below... "Dan Breslin has been employed here since Nov. 11, 1924, handling timber to the various places where it is used in the mind. Yesterday, he and his partner, Joe Uria took a truck load of 5 timbers from the Brennan Raise Station on No. 5 tunnel over to the No. 5 shaft, which is exclusively used for lowering supplies to the two levels below for the purpose of getting them to the next lower level. As is customary, his partner went below to take off the timber and left Dan to hitch on timbers and lower them with aid of an air hoist. The first thing known was by his partner, who heard the commotion and then Dan came hurtling out of the shaft on the 57th floor level, 100 feet below No. 5 tunnel. Two timers followed, but remained in the shaft. Dan was dead when he landed. Supt. Cartwright and Shift Boss West were very near and ran out to the station. From an examination, it is concluded that Dan evidently put his arms around the two top timbers to make the hitch and in doing so tipped up the truck and timbers towards the shaft opening - the two top timbers slipped off the shaft, carrying him with them into the shaft. Dr. Rolf of Mullan was called as a matter of form, but nothing could be done. The body was removed to Ward Undertaking Parlors in Wallace, Idaho." The remains reached Brewster on the Monday evening train and interment has had in the Brewster cemetery Tuesday morning. Services were conducted by Father Sondergeld of Okanogan and the remains were followed to his last earthly resting place by a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives.
