Description	:	Boone County Democrat December 31, 1909 Daniel Collier Ketchum, another esteemed pioneer residents of the county, having resided here since 1864, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James McIntosh, Friday December 24th, at the ripe old age of 84 years, 8 months and 21 days. He was born in Lorain County, Ohio, April 3, 1825. When a child he removed with his parents to North Adams, Mass, where he grew to manhood and in 1845 he united in marriage with Miss Cordelia Cummings. He was born in Lorain County, Ohio, April 3, 1825. When a child he removed with his parents to North Adams, Mass, where he grew to manhood and in 1845 he united in marriage with Miss Cordelia Cummings. Soon after, with his wife and daughter he removed to Illinois and later to Wisconsin. In 1854 they came to Boone County and located in old Boonsboro and later removed to Boone proper. He was a pioneer jeweler of the county and continued in the business until 1900, when he retired on account of old age. His wife died April 11, 1906, and since that time he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. McIntosh, who with two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, survive to mourn his death. The funeral services were held from the home at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev.
