Description	:	Daniel Frank Armstrong passed away peacefully in Spokane, Washington on April 2, 2010. Dan was born Jan. 27, 1925 in Norris, a son to Frank and Zora Armstrong. His family moved to Kansas, eventually opting to move back to Montana because of the Dust Bowl. He attended high school in Ennis, graduating in 1943. Following their marriage, Dan and Donna traveled to Spokane, Washington, where Dan attended and graduated from the Kinman Business School. Dan moved to Davenport, Washington, where he was the Davenport Auction Co. bookkeeper. He subsequently became employed with the Bertha Cathcart Agency in Davenport and eventually bought the business himself. He owned and operated the Dan Armstrong Insurance and Real Estate Agency until he retired. Dan enjoyed a good round of golf in and around Eastern Washington. He loved returning to his home in Montana. Dan took pride in his yard, relinquishing grass mowing only to journeyman relatives (after passing muster with Dan). Dan was an avid bridge player. He was an active member in the Davenport Lions Club for many years. Dan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Davenport. He was quick with a joke and enjoyed coffee downtown with "the boys." Dan was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Vernon Armstrong, James Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Miles Armstrong and Fannie (Armstrong) Aaberg. He is survived by his wife, Donna Armstrong, of Davenport, WA; children, Dane (Jackie) Armstrong, of Friday Harbor, WA, and Devora (Bill) Lee, of Fairfield; a sister, Kate (Max) Robison, of McAllister; and sisters-in-law, Jean Armstrong, of Ennis, Ruth Armstrong, of Federal Way, WA, and Marlene Bennetts, of Helena; grandchildren: Jenny Armstrong, of Bellevue, WA, Jami Armstrong, of Seattle, WA, Ricki (Chase) Kelly, of Denver, CO; and extended family members, Ron Kirkwood, Donna (Bob) Fisher, of Spokane, WA; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service commemorating the life of Dan Armstrong will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Davenport-Edwall United Methodist Church in Davenport, Washington, Pastor Brenda Tudor officiating. In Ennis, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at K & L Mortuary, with Gerry Moss officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Ennis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
