Description	:	Daniel G. Estal, 68, of 212 N. Center St., died unexpectedly Monday while working at the Regency Inn. Born July 13, 1914, at Gladstone, Manitoba. Canada, he was the son of Thomas and Angeline Dent Estal. He attended rural schools in the Chapel area near Green Mountain to the 8th grade and then, was graduated from Garwin High School in 1933. Read More	Daniel G. Estal, 68, of 212 N. Center St., died unexpectedly Monday while working at the Regency Inn. Born July 13, 1914, at Gladstone, Manitoba. Canada, he was the son of Thomas and Angeline Dent Estal. He attended rural schools in the Chapel area near Green Mountain to the 8th grade and then, was graduated from Garwin High School in 1933. After graduation, he worked for the Garwin Lumber Co. until entering the armed service in 1942. During World War II, he served as an MP in the Army. On May 22, 1942, he was married to Mildred Daugherty, and they re-sided in Montana four years before returning to Garwin in 1950, where he established the Zink and Estal Fertilizer Co. in 1952. Mr. Estal was employed by Gethmann Construction for 10 years before he went to work for the Gra-Iron Foundry in 1964. In 1971, he became employed at the Fisher Community Center and continued until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Gladbrook, the American Legion Post of Marshalltown and the Amvets of Gladbrook. Preceding him in death were one brother and a sister. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Joyce ( Mrs. Tom) Nelson of Ankeny; a granddaughter, Angela Schmitz, and two step-grand-daughters, Julie and Paula Nelson. Also surviving are two sisters, Fern (Mrs. Emil ) Fleming of Detroit, Mich., and Jennie Rose (Mrs Bob) Schrader of Dallas, Texas. Services will be at the chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Howard Lord, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Gladbrook, officiating.
