HE was one of twelve children bron to W.H.H. and Elizabeth Dalrymple CARVER. Of this number one sister, Mrs. Martha HOLGAFF, of Cincinnati, survives him.He married Miss Alwilda L. HOLSINGER of Cincinnati, July 16th, 1885. To them was born on son, Daniel. Mrs. Carver, the son and a grandchild, Rose CARVER, survive him. Mr. and Mrs. CARVER came to Kansas in 1889. For many years he has been a valued employee of the Missouri Pacific Railway company. When the Northwestern Branch was put through he was assigned the important task of opening up a number of the stations for business. This work concluded, he assumed charge of the Valley Falls station, remaining in that office for nineteen years, and identifying himself closely with the business and social life of the community. Leaving Valley Falls, he conducted a hotel at Soldier, Kansas, for a time, when he returned to the company service and was agent at Dunavant, until failing health compelled him to retire. Mr. CARVER joined the Christian church at Carthage, Ohio, in early life. He was a member of the M.W.A., of the Fraternal Citizens, and a long time member of the Masonic lodge in Valley Falls and also was a Royal Arch Mason. To this order he was intensely devoted and the funeral services were held under its auspices, at the Medthodist church in Valley Falls, Wednesday afternoon, Decemeber 15, at 2 o'clock; in charge of Dr. F.P. MANN, W.M.; and the Rev. A.L. WOOD, pastor of the church. A choir composed of Mrs. Lou HAUCK, Mrs. H.H. MITCHELL, Miss Ruby BURKERT and Miss Mella DORNBALSER furnished the music. Interment was at Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. CARVER was a good citizen, a loyal friend and brother. Of late years he had been an intense sufferer. To him Death came as a messenger of peace, bringing rest after pain, and light after darkness.
