Description	:	DANIEL HARRIS Obituary Daniel Harris was born in Preemption, Ill., February 16, 1869, and died February 6, 1923, at the M. E. Hospital, at Mitchell, S. D. At the age of thirteen he moved with his parents to Correctionville, Iowa, where they resided until 1893, when they moved to Charles Mix county, S. Read More	DANIEL HARRIS Obituary Daniel Harris was born in Preemption, Ill., February 16, 1869, and died February 6, 1923, at the M. E. Hospital, at Mitchell, S. D. At the age of thirteen he moved with his parents to Correctionville, Iowa, where they resided until 1893, when they moved to Charles Mix county, S. D., locating two miles east of the city of Platte in Darlington township. On Thanksgiving day 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Eva M. Kirkpatrick. They lived several years on their farm four miles north-east of Platte, and four years in Platte. Then deciding to try the homestead life they moved to Lyman county, this state, where they still reside. At about the age of fifteen years he was baptised and united with the Baptist church at Correctionville, Iowa, to which church he was a consistent member till the time of his death. Being deprived of the privilege of attending the church of which he was a member much of the time, he always took part and was active in the service of the Master, and cooperated I with the denominations nearest to where he lived. He leaves to mourn, his loving and faithful wife and son, David, who is at home and five brothers, Lewis, of Pierson, Ia; Henry. of Sioux City; Matthew, of Portland, Ore; William, of Mead, Wash. and J. D. Harris, of Delmont, S. D., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hoge, of Post Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Sadie Gaskill, Burke, S. D. and Miss Maude Harris, of Jonesboro, Ark., also a large number of relatives and friends. The funeral was held at Platte, and the service was conducted by Rev. H. C. Alley, of the M. E. church. The body was laid to rest in the Platte cemetery. Those of the family present at the funeral were. Lewis Harris and wife, Henry Harris, J.D.Harris and family, Mrs. Sadie Gaskill and husband end Miss Maude Harris. Those unable to attend were: Mrs. Mary Hoge, Mathew and William Harris.
