Description	:	Daniel was the tenth child born to John and Isabella (McKillip) Kinney. Last rites for the late D.H. Kinney were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on RRI AM January 11, at 10:00 a.m. Requiem High Mass was celebrated, with Rev. Fr. Murphy officiating. A large concourse of friends of the deceased man assembled to pay their last tribute of love and esteem. The interment was in the Catholic Cemetery. Dougherty of Mitchell. Daniel H. Kinney was born at Bluff Springs, Cass County, Illinois, September 19, 1870, the son of John and Isabella (McKillip) Kinney. He passed away at his home January 9, 1935 after a long illness. His boyhood and young manhood were spent in Illinois and on April 11, 1899, he was united in marriage with Miss Ella Devine at Jacksonville, Illinois. To this union, two children were born, one son Lawrence and one daughter, Mrs. Marguerite (C.J.) Schneider. In 1901, Mr. and Mrs. Kinney moved to Iowa conducting farm operations near Iowa City for six years, coming to Alexandria in 1907, engaging in farm here, where Mr. Kinney spent the remaining years of his life. Survived by widow Ellen, daughter Marguerite, son Lawrence, one grandson, John D. Schneider, one sister, Catherine (Kinney) Steuernagle and one brother, Thomas (Mollie) Kinney, both of Virginia, Illinois. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Frank (Dollie) and Willliam (Mary) Devine, one nephew, Eugene Devine, three nieces, Mary (Kinney) Devine, Mildred Devine, Rose (Kinney) Lerch and four great nieces Mary and Rose Devine and Joan and Rose Lerch, and three great nephews, Frank, Johnny, and James Devine, cousins John B. Kinney and Mary (Kinney) Collins. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sisters Rosana and Mary Kinney, brothers Patrick, John, John, Denis, Daniel, Daniel, and Michael Kinney, Aunts Rose and Jane (Murray) Kinney, Uncle Patrick Kinney, cousin Rose (Kinney) Greuel.
