McQueen was born in Horry County, SC, January 25, 1821, and died May 17, 1890 in Bennettsville. He married Miss Eliza C. Skipper on November 18, 1846, with whom he spent and enjoyed a happy domestic life and who now, with six children mourn their irreparable loss. Read More	CSA Company F, 7th SC Cavalry Present at the surrender in Appomattox BENNETTSVILLE - D. J. McQueen was born in Horry County, SC, January 25, 1821, and died May 17, 1890 in Bennettsville. He married Miss Eliza C. Skipper on November 18, 1846, with whom he spent and enjoyed a happy domestic life and who now, with six children mourn their irreparable loss. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years and at a meeting held by Rev. W. B. Baker at Rehoboth a few years ago professed to be converted. His illness which lasted nearly six weeks took place at the residence of his son-in-law, the Rev. W. H. Kirton, who told me at the first stage of his illness he expressed himself as not willing to die; but as the crisis was delayed he became peaceful and resigned, and professed that he was prepared and willing to die. He was brough home under the affectionate care of Rev. W. H. Kirton and from thence to Rehoboth Church where he held his membership; funeraled by his pastor and buried with the honor of the Alsance of which he was a member at Sandy Plain.
