Description	:	Daniel Joseph Meyers was born on March 14, 1957, at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Howard and Dorothy O'Brien Meyers. He attended school at Volga and Elkader and graduated with the 1975 class of Starmont High School. Daniel was united in marriage to Karen Koch on December 1, 1978, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Lamont, Iowa. To this union two sons were born: Nathan and Billy. He attended school at Volga and Elkader and graduated with the 1975 class of Starmont High School. Daniel was united in marriage to Karen Koch on December 1, 1978, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Lamont, Iowa. To this union two sons were born: Nathan and Billy. The family lived in Winthrop, Iowa until 1992, when they moved to Aurora, Iowa. Daniel and Karen were divorced, but continued to be loving companions. Over the years, Daniel has worked at Farmstead Foods, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at Triangle Plastics in Winthrop, and recently as a farm hand. He was currently studying small engine repair. He was an avid gardener; a kind, caring and generous person to everyone; but most importantly, was a loving and proud father and grandfather. At the age of 53 years, Daniel entered into his eternal rest on Monday, September 20, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center in Oelwein, following a sudden illness. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his mother-in-law, Colleen Koch. Survivors include his companion, Karen, of Aurora; his two sons: Nathan (Brittany) Meyers of Arlington, IA; and Billy (Jacci) Meyers of Strawberry Point, IA; his three granddaughters: Benelli, Kylinne, and Addilyn Meyers; five sisters: Linda (Dennis)Speth of LeClere,IA; Kathy Meyers of Hiawatha, IA; Ruth (Don) Hamilton of Milwaukee, WI; Becky (Leroy)Messler of Decorah, IA; and Jane (Chuck) Spargrove of Strawberry Point; one brother, Wendell Meyers of Monona, IA; stepmother, Ruth Meyers of Elkader, IA; father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, LaVerne and Mary Koch of Lamont; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elaine (Ken) Westin of Decorah; Doris (Alan) Flexsenhar of Norwalk, IA; Jerry (Ann) Flexsenhar of Masonville, IA; Larry (Chelley) Koch of Aurora; and Steve (Becky) Koch of Oelwein; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Fawcett Funeral Chapel in Lamont from 4 PM until 7 PM.
