Description	:	THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN, March 23, 1893. DIED- At the residence of his son, Pawnee City, Neb., March 17, 1893, Daniel L. Burdick, aged 66 years, 3 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Massachusetts, Nov. 27, 1826. When quite young his parents moved to New York. Five years of his early life was spent on the ocean. In 1858 he removed to Minnesota and in 1867 to Pawnee county, where he resided until his death. Daniel L. Burdick enlisted in Co. G, 8th Minnesota Vol. Inft. DIED- At the residence of his son, Pawnee City, Neb., March 17, 1893, Daniel L. Burdick, aged 66 years, 3 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Massachusetts, Nov. 27, 1826. When quite young his parents moved to New York. Five years of his early life was spent on the ocean. In 1858 he removed to Minnesota and in 1867 to Pawnee county, where he resided until his death. Daniel L. Burdick enlisted in Co. G, 8th Minnesota Vol. Inft. August 15, 1862, and was honorably discharged August 1, 1865. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church Saturday, March 18, at 2 p.m., the funeral discourse being delivered by Rev. G. M. Couffer, pastor of the church, from these words: "Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his." Rev. Couffer visited the deceased on Sunday previous to his death, and while there a paper containing the above passage of scripture, together with a few items in regard to the deceased's past history, handed him and the request made by Mr. Burdick that his funeral sermon be preached from the above text. After the sermon the remains were taken to the cemetery and laid to rest. The funeral arrangement were conducted by the members of John Ingham post, of which the deceased was a member.
