Born on February 19, 1947 in Keyser, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Daniel Lester White, Sr. and Thelma (Steyer) White. Read More	Daniel Lester White, Jr., 73, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, passed peacefully at his Spring Mills home with his family by his side. Born on February 19, 1947 in Keyser, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Daniel Lester White, Sr. and Thelma (Steyer) White. Dan grew up in Garrett County, Maryland and was a 1965 graduate from Southern High School in Oakland. Married in 1970, he and his wife relocated to the community of Highlandtown in Baltimore, where he worked in various construction fields. He worked on the 895 Harbor Tunnel, before retiring from Amtrak after thirty years in 2015 as a building and bridge mechanic along the New York and Washington, D.C. corridor. Dan loved all things outdoors, especially his hunting trips “back home” to Steyer, Maryland. He coached his daughter and her friends in bowling, basketball, and softball and spent many years enjoying league bowling. He achieved a perfect 300 game on March 16, 1999, earning his recognition membership of the American Bowling Congress. Golf became a passion for “Dan the man” during his retirement and he especially looked forward to golfing times with his friends. Dan had previously attended the Salem United Methodist Church in Highlandtown, and the Cowenton United Methodist Church near his home in the Bay County community. He had currently enjoyed the many friends and times spent at the Bedington United Methodist Church in Falling Waters, WV. Dan was an “anything” Baltimore and Maryland sports fan. He loved the Orioles, the Terrapins, the Colts and the Ravens; always looking forward to watching the teams play. Danny, as he was always called, never met a person who wasn’t a friend. He could talk to a stranger anywhere and loved to learn about other’s lives. Danny had an uncanny way to speak the truth about everything, and always make everyone want to be his friend. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda ”Brownie” (Brown) White; his daughter, Robin Lynne Weagley and her husband Randy, formerly of Keedysville, Maryland; and his sister, Betty Van Slycke and her husband John of Hampstead, Maryland. Dan is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a great-great nephew. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roger and George White. Dan will be laid to rest with his family in a private service at the White Church Cemetery in Oakland. Memorial Services in the Baltimore, Falling Waters, and Oakland communities will be planned for later in the year so that all who knew and loved Dan can join together in celebration that made Dan the perfect friend that he was to all. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430. The family extends deepest appreciation for the special care, love and support of the Panhandle Hospice team. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Douglas A.
