Foxworthy died Tuesday evening at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Graves. His demise was not unexpected since he had been failing in health from anemia for some time and was bedfast for several weeks. He was given every attention possible, and treated by doctors at home and Lake City, but without success, save to prolong his life a few days. He was brought to town from his country home so he could be daily and hourly under the care of a physician. He was cheerful through his affliction and while he said he was making the best fight he could for his life, yet if it had really come his time to pass out of this life, he had no complaint, and would accept the inevitable with complete resignation. His family and near relatives were with him during his last hours. The deceased came to Iowa from Indiana, his native state, with his parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Thomas Foxworthy, when a young man. He grew to manhood north of town where his father owned a farm, and where the deceased by industry and good management, with the help of his wife, accumulated a good share of this world's goods. He was a social man, a good neighbor and an honorable in his business dealings. Funeral services were held yesterday from the M. E. Church, Rev. H. G. Hicks, assisted by the pastor of the Friends Church, conducting them in the presence of a large audience. The remains were interred in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. The following obituary was kindly furnished us by relative: After a lingering illness of more than eight months Daniel T. Foxworthy passed away Tuesday evening. Sometime in December his health began to fail but it was not until the latter part of April that his condition was thought to be of a serious nature. Early in May he was taken to the hospital at Carroll for special treatment, being examined by specialists, it was found that the disease of pernicious anemia and fast and itself upon him. For a time as his health seemed to improve and for several weeks during the summer he was able to move about the house and to visit amongst his friends and relatives. Eight weeks ago he again became bedfast and was brought to the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Graves of Coon Rapids, that he might be near the attending physician. Everything was done that could be to restore him to health but with all that human hands could do it seemed impossible to successfully combat the disease. Daniel T. Foxworthy was born near Greencastle, Indiana, February 11, 1866, and died at Coon Rapids, Iowa, November 1st, 1921. When a boy of 6 years he came with his parents to Wayne County, Iowa. Five years later they moved to Carroll County, Iowa, where he resided until his death. On January 30th, 1889, he was married to Evelyn M. Thomas. To this union were born five children Orville T., Beulah, and Nile T., the two others dying in infancy. Besides his companion, the three children, with four grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives, there remain to mourn the loss of the loved one, three brothers and five sisters are as follows: Mrs.. D. Belle Ruark of Glidden, Iowa, William H. of Scranton, Iowa, Mrs Emma J. Graves of Coon Rapids, John L. of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Effie M. Nelson, Mrs.. Hattie Pyle, Mrs. Stella McLain, all three of Glidden and Theodore of Spiceland, Ind. The father, mother and a sister, Mrs.. Pearl Pyle preceded him in the departure of this life. A few days before death came he called his youngest brother, who is a minister, to his bedside, telling him that he could not get well. He then requested the brother to help him find the Saviour. After the brother had talked with him and prayed, Daniel prayed earnestly, asking the Lord to forgive him, save him and help him to find the way.
