Daniel R. Duwa was born on May 26, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa to Melvin Duwa and Irene (Gingrich) Duwa. He was a 1972 graduate of Lost Nation High School and then attended and graduated from Clinton Community College in 1974 with an associates of arts degree in business. He married Melodee Shady on May 20, 1972 in Toronto, Iowa. Daniel had worked as a parts consultant for McEleney Motors in Clinton, Iowa for 23 years and for five years at D & D Chevrolet in DeWitt, Iowa. Daniel was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeWitt and a former member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and antique tractors. Daniel is survived by: his wife- Melodee Duwa of DeWitt IA; children- Renee(Mrs. Lonnie) Carr of Monmouth IA & Joseph(Renee) Duwa of DeWitt IA; 4 grandchildren- Ciera & Lexus Carr & Jeanette & Remington Duwa; his parents- Melvin & Irene Duwa of Lost Nation IA; sisters- LaVonne(Mrs. Gary) Gleason of Davenport IA Karen(Mrs. Jim) Hamann of Long Grove IA & Vicki(Mrs. Tom) Shady of West Liberty IA; a brother- Tim(Jackie) Duwa of Lost Nation IA; a sister-in-law- Kathy Morrison of Cedar Rapids IA; & a brother-in-law- John(Saralyn) Shady of Ohio; & numerous nieces & nephews.
