Troyer was born July 5, 1863 in the State of Ohio, passed to the Great Beyond in Buffalo, New York, November 18, 1933 at the age of 70 years, 4 months, 13 days. On March 16, 1890 he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Hershberger of Walnut Creek, Ohio, In the spring of 1909 they moved to the state of Kansas where they resided until 1926, in which year they moved to Clarence Center, New York. Beside his companion, the following children survive to mourn his departure: Erma, wife of Elmer Zimmerman, Ralph, Anna, wife of O. S. Schrock, Vella, wife of Ray F. Elliot, residing in Kansas; M. Miles of Elkhart, Indiana, Oris of Buffalo, New York, Ruth, Paul and Raymond of Clarence Center. He was preceded in death by infant twins and a daughter Elsie Mae. Twenty-six grandchildren, three sisters, one uncle and one aunt also survive. At the age of 21 he, of his own accord, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and united with the Mennonite Church at Walnut Creek, Ohio. He was a diligent student of the word of God and upheld the standard of a Victorious Christian life, Though none of the family were privileged to be at his bedside when he passed away, he left a clear and definite testimony to those in attendance that all was well. His faith in God remained. The family desires to express their appreciation for the kindness shown and assistance rendered during the time of illness and bereavement. Troyer of Clarence Center, aged 70 years on Saturday, November 18, 1933. The end came at the Deaconess hospital, Buffalo, where he had submitted to an operation two weeks previously. Mr. Troyer had been a resident of Clarence Center for the past seven years. He conducted a store there, featuring automobile supplies and shoe repairing. His acquaintanceship was widened through this means, and he gained the high esteem of the community. His birthplace was Ohio, and he was born July 5, 1863, the son of the late Seth and Mary Gerber Troyer. He married Sarah J. Hershberger on March 16, 1890. They were the parents of twelve children, three of whom died in infancy - Elsie Mae and twins. Mourning the loss of a beloved husband and father are his widow, four daughters and five sons, Mrs. Elmer Zimmerman, and Mrs. O. S. Shrock of Protection, Kansas. M. Miles Troyer of Elkhart, Indiana, Ralph Troyer of Newton, Kansas, Mrs. R. F. Elliott of Wichita. Kan., Oris H. Troyer of Buffalo, and Ruth Glenda, Paul William and Raymond Daniel Troyer of Clarence Center. Three sisters Mrs. J. J. Hostetler, Mrs. Sarah Kurtz of Goshen, Indiana and Mrs. George Miller of Smithville, Ohio and 26 grandchildren also survive. At the age of 21 he, of his own accord, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and united with the Mennonite Church at Walnut Creek, Ohio. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at his late residence and was conducted by Dr. J. E. Miller of East Aurora. At 2 o'clock a service was held in the River Brethren church, with the Rev. J. N. Hostetler, the pastor, officiating and M. H. Shantz of the Mennonite church of New Dundee, Can. assisting. Carrying the remains were Elmer Murray, Harry Klinglesmith, Noah Yoder, Levi Detweiler, Clyde Urban and Alvin Berry. Burial will be made at Walnut Creek, Ohio Amhearst Bee, November 23, 1933 --------------------- DANIEL TROYER Funeral Services Thursday For Former Mlllersburg Resident. MILLERSBURG—The body of Daniel Troyer, 70 former local resident who died at Clarence Center, N. Y., was to arrive here today. Funeral services will be held at the Mennonite church at Walnut Creek Thursday at 10 a. m. with Rev. Alvin Miller officiating. Burial Walnut Creek cemetery. The body will remain at the Elliott parlors until Thursday morning. Mr. Troyer left this vicinity eight years ago* to operate a store at New York. He is survived by five sons, four daughters and three sisters. Canton Repository, November 22, 1933 --------------------- Funeral services were held at the Walnutcreek church at ten o’clock Thursday morning for Daniel S. Troyer, 70, whose death occurred on Saturday evening at his home in Clarence Center. Burial was made in the Walnutcreek cemetery. Mr. Troyer was a native of Holmes county and for a number of years operated a store at Berlin, leaving there about eight years ago to live in New York state. He leaves his wife, five daughters and four sons and three sisters. The body was sent from Clarence Center to the Elliott Funeral Home here, arriving Wednesday morning. The funeral services were conducted at Walnutcreek by the Rev. Alvin Miller.
