Daniel Vincent Bade was born on November 17, 1952 in Casper, WY to Cecil and Sophie (Christenson) Bade. As a child, his family made their home in Sioux Falls, SD. Dan graduated from O’Gorman High School and then earned his Heating and Air Conditioning Technical Degree in Mitchell, SD. Dan was united in marriage with Linda Marie Geppert on May 27, 1978 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Dan and Linda were happily married for over 38 years. They lived in Sioux Falls and were blessed with their daughter, Jennifer. Dan worked in the Heating and Air Conditioning Industry for over 40 years, which included starting his own business Bade Sheet Metal in 1995. Dan was an active member at the Cathedral of St. Joseph his entire life. Dan had a passion and love for collecting and restoring older models of cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed and cherished family traditions, which included celebrating holidays and going to the family farm for pheasant hunting. He looked forward to annual travels with his beloved wife and dear friends. Wednesday nights were especially important as that was “Safety Meeting” night at Dan’s shop. Dan took great interest in history and you could often find him watching the History Channel or reading a history book. Dan had great pride in being a handyman. He enjoyed fixing things around the house and helping his daughter with her new house. Dan was the definition of a family man, husband and friend. He wasn’t the most outgoing guy, but in his quiet way he accumulated many friends throughout the years. You could always find him nodding his head, chuckling, and smiling. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 38 years, Linda Bade; daughter, Jennifer Bade of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers: Brian (Sandy) Bade of Rapid City, SD, and Greg Bade of Tucson, AZ; two brothers-in-law: Tom (Renee) Geppert of Kimball, SD and Dan and Dawn Geppert of Sturgis, SD; three sisters-in-law: Brenda (Ron) Dominiack of Chamberlain, SD, Jackie (Kent) Anderson of Renner, SD and Nancy (Bryan) Knock of Chancellor, SD; 15 nieces and nephews; honorary daughter, Amy (Brett) Andersen and their son, Augie of Fargo, ND. Dan is preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Sophie Bade; two brothers: Robert and Bruce Bade; two sisters-in-law: Kay Bade and Lori Bade; father-in-law and mother in-law, Ernest and Elna Geppert.
