Foxworthy, 85, pioneer resident of Chase County, passed away at his home in Strong City about 8 o'clock Saturday evening. He had not been well for several months but was able to be up and around and about the streets. Retired farmer and pioneer Chase County resident suddenly taken in death, Saturday. Daniel W. Foxworthy, 85, pioneer resident of Chase County, passed away at his home in Strong City about 8 o'clock Saturday evening. He had not been well for several months but was able to be up and around and about the streets. His condition was not believed to be critical Saturday until late in the afternoon when his heart began to fail. Death came quietly while he slept. Funeral Services were held at St. Anthony's Church, Tuesday morning, November 4, at 10 o'clock with Rev. Father Philip White in charge. Mr. Foxworthy's grandson, Emran Gamer, was at the organ and provided the music for the requiem mass. Pallbearers were Paul Stubenhofer, Karl Stubenhofer, Henry Wiebrecht, Irvin Rettiger, Oscar Daub and H K Campbell. Interment was made in St. Anthony's Cemetery beside his wife. The entire family was present for the service. Mr. Foxworthy was born in Waynetown, Ind., October 30 1862, the son of the late Joseph and Maria Foxworthy. When a small boy he moved to Iowa with his parents and later in a covered wagon to Kansas. The family settled near Cedar Point where he lived until a young man when they moved to Cottonwood Falls. On November 04, 1890, he was married to Josephine Stubenhofer. To this union six children were born. Two sons, Leroy and Dewey, preceded him in death. Four surviving daughters are Miss Marie Foxworhty of the home; Mrs Harry Gamer of Newton; Mrs. David Drummond of Elmdale and Sister Mary Daniel of Denver, Colorado. Three grandchildren, Emran Gamer, Leoti, Kansas; Alvin Gamer, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Hugh Sheridan, Topeka, Kans. also survive. Dan or "D.W." as he was known to his friends, sold his farm on South Fork and moved to Strong City some twenty-five years ago where he has since made his home.
