Description	:	Funeral of Dan King The community was somewhat shocked to hear of the sudden death of Daniel Walter King at his home on last Thursday afternoon. He was tearing down a hog shed, ten rods from the house and was up on a ladder and fell a distance of 20 feet to the ground, death, occurring almost instantly. He was subject to spells of unconsciousness and it was thought: that he had taken one of these that resulted in his death. Read More	Funeral of Dan King The community was somewhat shocked to hear of the sudden death of Daniel Walter King at his home on last Thursday afternoon. He was tearing down a hog shed, ten rods from the house and was up on a ladder and fell a distance of 20 feet to the ground, death, occurring almost instantly. He was subject to spells of unconsciousness and it was thought: that he had taken one of these that resulted in his death. He had been troubled with this ailment for many years and his parents had taken him all over the country to find some medical treatment for him, but could find nothing that would help him. He was a splendid young man and very industrious when able to work. He was born near Randolph, Iowa on April 10, 1888 and died on September 26, 1918 at the age of 30 years, 5 months and 16 days. He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents and three brothers, Ivan and Carl King of Creighton and Austin King, who is in the service of his county somewhere in France. The funeral was held on Sunday morning from the St. Ludgerus Catholic church, where a large concourse of friends paid their last tribute. The funeral services were conducted by Father Windolph and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved parents in the loss of their son. The relatives attending the funeral from out of town were: T.J. Rogers, James Rogers and Miss Linnie Rogers of Randolph, Iowa, brothers and sister of Mrs. King. ...The Creighton News 3 Oct 1918 In the 1910 census Edward and Mary King are living in Miller township, address Winnetoon, NE with their children, Ivan, Daniel, Edward and Austin, all born in Iowa.
