Description	:	Danne C. Schultz was born on February 9, 1936 on a farm southwest of Burlingame, KS, rented by his parents, Clarence and Mildred (Heitschmidt) Schultz. In 1942 they bought 160 acres southwest of Michigan Valley. Danne started to school that fall at Cook School one-half mile east of the farm. His education continued until the spring of 1953 when he received his high school diploma from Michigan Valley High School. He met and later married Vera Mae Pruett on February 14, 1954. Schultz was born on February 9, 1936 on a farm southwest of Burlingame, KS, rented by his parents, Clarence and Mildred (Heitschmidt) Schultz. In 1942 they bought 160 acres southwest of Michigan Valley. Danne started to school that fall at Cook School one-half mile east of the farm. From this union, three sons were born: Forrest E. (Gene, currently in Topeka, KS), C. Gregory (Greg, currently in Quenemo, KS), and Gerald O. (Gerry, currently in Garden City, KS). He received his bachelor s degree from Ottawa University in June 1963. He taught school in Franklin and Osage Counties for 32 years. He also farmed and worked construction jobs in the summer. His family grew to include 3 daughters-in-law Peg (Gene), SueAnn (Greg), and Loretta (Gerry), 8 grandchildren (and 2 grand daughters-in-law): Josh (Heather),Tim, Garrett, Corey, Zachary (Ashley) , Logan, Connor, Hannah and 2 great grandchildren, Hunter and Caleb (Josh/Heather). His hobbies were sports (as a youth), golf and fishing (mid life) and strictly a watcher of events (later life). He enjoyed musical entertainment across the spectrum from classical opera to music of the 70s. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mildred, by a brother who died in infancy, and by his wife of 48 years, Vera Mae Schultz. He is survived by all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters and their husbands (Marla & Richard Browning, Sandra Sue and Darrell Sturdy), and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Danne will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, September, 20 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon and one hour before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the West Franklin Vera Mae Schultz Memorial Math Bee.
