Read More	Globe Gazette Mason City, Iowa Sunday, 6 January 2008 DARLA REED (1966-2008) Rockwell - Darla Reed, 41, of Rockwell, died Friday (January 4, 2008) at Franklin General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell with Father Jim Dubert presiding. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Dougherty. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 5 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church School in Rockwell with a Scripture wake service at 5 p.m. followed by a rosary. Darla Carol Tramel was born on Nov. 28, 1966, in Mason City, a daughter of Melbourne and Carol (Kinne) Trampel. She attended school in Forest City and with her family moved to Swaledale High School in 1985. Darla attended North Iowa Area Community College and helped care for her family. On Nov. 29, 1986, Darla was united in marriage with James Reed at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. They made their home on a farm near Dougherty. Darla became a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty and served as a member of the Ladies Guild. In 2001 the family moved to an acreage near Rockwell and joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church where Darla served on the board of education and as co-chair for the kitchen. Darla worked at Wal-Mart in Mason City and returned to college, graduating in 1993 as a medical assistant. In 1994, she began working in the lab at Mason City Clinic and for the last eight years has worked at the Family Practice Residency in Mason City. She was active in the V.I.P. Red/Black Band for RS/SCMT school, RS Football Backers and was on the post-prom committee. Darla enjoyed scrapbooking, attending their children's activities and sports and spending time with her friends from work. Darla's memory is cherished by her husband, Jim Reed; children: Matthew, Andrea and Collin; mother, Carol Trampel, Forest City; father-in-law, Robert Reed, Dougherty; sister, Deb (Tom) Cunningham, Leland; brother, Dan Trampel, Forest City; sisters-in-law, Mary Keopraseuth, Portland, Ore, Donna Reed and special friend Dave, Stanford, Conn.; Julie Reed, Ames; brothers-in-law, John Reed, Plano, Texas, and Dennis Reed, Austin, Texas; nieces and nephews: Jake, Josh and Nick Cunningham; Antony and Andy Keospraseuth; Megan and Josh Reed and Bill and Carey Awe; family friend: Glorie Reed; special friend: Sue Carlson and numerous other friends and relatives. Darla is preceded in death by her father, Melbourne Trampel; and mother-in-law, Mary Margaret Reed.
