Darlene Holtz was born on July 22, 1926 on the family farm rural Wisner, NE to Herman and Dorothea (Besmer) Brockemeier. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School, rural Wisner. On November 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roland J. Darlene Holtz was born on July 22, 1926 on the family farm rural Wisner, NE to Herman and Dorothea (Besmer) Brockemeier. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School, rural Wisner. On November 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roland J. Holtz at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed south of Beemer until 1968 when they moved into Beemer. Darlene had worked at the Indian Trails Country Club, nursing homes in West Point and Beemer, Wimmer's Meat Products in West Point, and the Pastime Bar in Beemer. Darlene was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, Beemer American Legion Auxiliary Post #159, West Point V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912 and the Beemer Senior Center. She enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren, playing cards, baking bars, and was always seen with a smile on her face and ready to joke with whomever she met. Survivors;Son,Gary Holtz, Daughter,Doris (Gene) Ehrisman, Daughter, Colleen (Kent) Weborg, Son,Dale(Pam)Holtz; 6 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 13 Step Great Grandchildren and 8 Step Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister,LaVertha Radtke, Sister-in-law-Rosalie Ott, Brothers-in-law; Arlin Holtz, John Lee Holtz, Milton (Alice) Holtz, Quentin (Genny) Holtz. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roland on February 6, 2008, brother-in-law, Louis Radtke, sisters-in-law; Irma Bergt, Lillian Adkins and Ardis Holtz. Funeral services for Darlene Holtz age 87 of Beemer, NE will be on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church at Beemer, NE. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer and will continue on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. www.kuzelka-minnickfuneralhomes.com
