Description	:	Darlene L. Pearson, 82, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Salem passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 17 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Center at 1:30 pm. Visitation will begin at 9 am on Monday with family present from 6 - 8 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Darlene Lillian Mogck was born on November 17, 1934 to G. Adolph and Lillian (Schlechter) Mogck on the family farm near Olivet, SD. She graduated from Tripp High School in 1952 and attended Augustana College for 1 year to study music. Darlene then worked at Brown Drug and Donahue Clinic in Sioux Falls. She married Ralph Stephenson on October 26, 1958. On May 26, 1972, she married Eldon “Swede” Pearson. Darlene was a homemaker for several years and then went on to work at the McCook County FSA. Darlene was a member of Mission Covenant Church, Salem United Church and most recently Gloria Dei. She sang, directed choirs, and played organ at many churches in Salem and the surrounding area. She was an organist for hundreds of weddings and funerals. Darlene was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Fun and Friends club and also loved to bowl. Darlene is survived by: her three sons, Dale (Carol) Stephenson of Sioux Falls, Scott (Jen) Pearson of Sioux Falls, and Chad (Molly) Pearson of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; twin brother, Duane Mogck of Scotland; sister-in-law, Norma Mogck; brother and sister-in-law, Arlys and Alan Stanga; sister-in-law, Kay Stephenson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ralph Stephenson, second husband, Eldon Pearson, and brother, Oliver Mogck. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Center or Feeding South Dakota. Kinzley Funeral Home of Salem.
