Description	:	Darlene Perry, 73, of Nevada, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with Pastor David Burling and Vicar Nat Bothwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Darlene Agnes Perry was born December 11, 1941, in Nevada, Iowa, at the Iowa Sanitarium to Wesley Deal and Agnes (Peterson) Perry. Darlene graduated from Nevada High School in 1960. She worked at Graphic Forms in Nevada for over 25 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Nevada, a job she loved. Darlene was the oldest member of the Corvette Club of Iowa, joining in 1962. She showed horses and dogs, arm wrestled and raced Corvettes. Darlene and her mother loved to go to Las Vegas. At Caesar’s Palace she danced on stage with the Pointer Sisters. She took care of her mother until she was 98 years old. Darlene loved her two black cats, Ace and Onyx, and all animals. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed her friends. She is survived by a son, David Perry, of Urbandale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter. Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Darlene.
