Darlene was born September 16, 1929, at Creston, Nebraska to Floyd Earl and Bertha (Leu) Miller. Darlene grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk (NE.) High School with the class of 1947. Darlene married William Ross on May 11, 1949 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Norfolk, Nebraska. They made their home in Tilden, Nebraska for their 64 years of married life. To Bill and Darlene were born four children: Judy, Carol, Betsy, and Bill. Darlene worked at Cengas, was director of the Housing Authority of Tilden, Nebraska and at Elkhorn (NE.) Valley Public Schools. Bill and Darlene enjoyed traveling, camping, bike riding and walking. She was a member of the Peace Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday school. She delivered Meals of Wheels for many years. Her baking and cooking was enjoyed by family and friends. Darlene always treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darlene was an avid reader and a long time supporter of the Tilden Public Library. Survivors are: husband, William " Bill" Ross; children, Judy (Allan) Pearson of Ceresco, Nebraska, Carol (Ken) Rittscher of Tilden, Nebraska, Betsy (Larry) Uhing of Grand Island, Nebraska and Bill (Rose Ann) Ross of Tilden, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Darlen was preceded in death by: Parents and sisters, Delores Anderson and Donna Barr. Burial was in Tilden City Cemetery, Tilden, Nebraska.
