Description	:	Darlis "Dot" Boone Watson, age 72, of Concord, formerly of Celo, passed away on Sunday, July 12th, 2015 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Georgia Parker Boone. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Calvin, Daniel and Larry Boone and a daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Willis. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, listening and singing gospel music and her animals, many of which she rescued. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Georgia Parker Boone. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Calvin, Daniel and Larry Boone and a daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Willis. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, listening and singing gospel music and her animals, many of which she rescued. Dot loved being around people and especially her grandchildren who were always the loves of her life. Surviving is her loving husband, John Watson, Jr.; sons: Burdette Willis and wife, Linda, of Spruce Pine, Carson Willis and wife, Ann, of Marion, Robert Willis and wife, Susie, also of Spruce Pine, William Willis and Jonathan Watson both of Concord; step-son, Jonathan Sowers and wife, Chrissie, of Marion; sisters: Clara Briggs of Burnsville, Carless Briggs also of Burnsville, Jennie Smith of Newland, Noma Walker of Old Fort, Santa Fe Honeycutt of Erwin, TN and Phyllis Bradshaw of Morganton; brothers: Leslie Boone, C.W. Boone, Paul Boone all of Marion and Charlie Boone of Burnsville; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; godsons: Robbie Motley and Louis Ray Kozlowski. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Boone Cemetery on Upper Browns Creek. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
