Description	:	Darold Mathew Korth, son of Mathew and Matilda (Neuhaus) Korth, was born February 11, 1929, near Randolph, Nebraska. Darold died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Wausa, Nebraska. Darold spent his early years living in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Randolph, Nebraska. After receiving his education, Darold worked and farmed with his father until enlisting in the United States Air Force on July 6, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska. Read More	Darold Mathew Korth, son of Mathew and Matilda (Neuhaus) Korth, was born February 11, 1929, near Randolph, Nebraska. Darold died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Wausa, Nebraska. Darold spent his early years living in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Randolph, Nebraska. After receiving his education, Darold worked and farmed with his father until enlisting in the United States Air Force on July 6, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska. While serving his country during the early years of the Korean War, Darold received training in mechanical repair and welding; a trade he would put to use the rest of his life. Darold received his Honorable Discharge on May 9, 1952, and went to work doing welding and riveting on numerous steel truss highway and railroad bridges that once crossed the rivers and creeks throughout Nebraska. When not working, Darold took much delight in playing his accordion and listening to music, as well as gardening. He sought out the most unique and often times, unusual, plants and flowers, and thoroughly enjoyed scanning the seed-house catalogs, looking for the next thing he could try to grow. Darold was a man that enjoyed the simple things in life, still cutting his own firewood until this past winter, and was proud to have owned only two cars in his life, having driven his 1966 Plymouth Valiant "coast to coast", seeing the sights and sounds of America. Darold was also proud of his 1953 Farmall 300 and loader. While not having a family of his own, Darold adopted his neighbors and they adopted him, looking out for each other and helping each other whenever needed. Darold's life and memory are forever cherished by his special friends, his neighbors and their families. Darold was preceded in death by: parents and sister. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Wausa, Nebraska.
