The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 10, at 10:30 AM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Becher was born April 3, 1945, in Humphrey, Nebraska, to Allen and Vernetta (Hellbusch) Becher. He was baptized on April 27, 1945, and confirmed his Christian faith through confirmation on March 22, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church LCMS. Darrell attended grade school at St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Columbus High School in 1963. After graduation, Darrell worked for a farmer near Schuyler until his marriage to Angeline Cattau on December 8, 1963. They purchased a farm south of St. John’s Lutheran Church where they farmed and raised livestock. Darrell was a DeKalb and AsGrow seed dealer for many years. He enjoyed stock car and NASCAR racing, driving around the area and looking at the crops, and spending time with his grandchildren. Darrell is survived by: Daughter – Brenda McWilliams of Omaha, NE Daughter – Sondra (Michael) Boulton of Columbus, NE Son – Bill (Jill) Becher of Leigh, NE 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren Sister – Charlene Behlen of Columbus, NE Sister – Sharon (Bill) Zobel of Columbus, NE Brother – Duane (Rose) Becher of Columbus, NE Darrell was preceded in death by: Parents – Allen & Vernetta Becher Grandson – Mickey Boulton Brother-in-law – Carroll Behlen
