Darrell Lee Timmerman was born on November 16, 1936, at Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Merle Henry and Ione Louise (Peter- son) Timmerman. He grew up in the Hurley area, attending Chancellor public schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1955, until his honorable discharge in 1957. On February 11, 1961 he was united in marriage to Janet Ollerich at St. Magdalen Catholic Church, Lennox. The couple farmed near Tea. Darrell also sold Pioneer Seed for many years and had been a Director of the Production Credit Asso- ciation. Darrell was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Tea. In younger years he played fast pitch softball. Darrell was a catcher who caught for his brother, Ronnie, who was inducted into the South Dakota Fast Pitch Hall of Fame. Darrell was a singer who sang in his family’s quartet, church choir and in the Tri Valley Barbershop Choir and Quartet. He also enjoyed Card Club. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Besides his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie and Bill and one sister, Carol Murray. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of over 58 years, Janet; children: Lou (Stan) Gillette, Sioux Falls, Lee (Amber) Timmerman, Bismarck, ND, Larry (Nicolle) Timmerman, Freeman and Lynette (Paul) Wold, Yankton; 11 grandchildren: Anthony (Kristen) Blaine, Andrea (Jimmy) Boatright, Josh Gillette, Jessica Constant, Eric (Olivia) Timmerman, Ashley (Logan) Brown, Savanna Timmerman, Rylea Timmerman, Guss Timmerman, Alexander Wold and Benjamin Wold; seven: great-grandchildren: Henry Blaine, Thomas Blaine, Francis Boatright, Lincoln Brown, Payson Brown, Nora Constant and Natalie Constant as well as other relatives and friends.
