Read More	☆☆☆～ U.S. Army Veteran ～☆☆☆ KOREA Darrell Ray was born on March 21, 1935, to Milo and Dorothy (Ragels) Zeck in Conde. He attended rural school in Beotia Township. In 1954, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War until January of 1957. On March 28, 1959, he married. He was employed by General Motors in Janesville, Wis. The couple returned to South Dakota in 1966, where he held various jobs. Darrell retired in 1997 as a farm laborer, but continued farming until he became ill in December of 2003. Darrell was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Conde, the Conde American Legion and the VFW in Turton. He was recognized last year for 43 years of service as a volunteer fireman. Darrell was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also spending time at the lake on weekends. He took great pride and pleasure in his garden each year. Grateful for having shared 43 years of marriage. His wife, son, daughters. grandchildren, great grandchildren, on brother and several nieces and nephews survive.Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, one sister and his stepparents.
