Description	:	Darroll Henry Henning, son of Henry and Renate Hoppenworth Henning, was born December 2, 1939, at Tripoli, Iowa. He was baptized December 31, 1939, and confirmed April 11, 1954, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. He attended Tripoli High School and left in 1958, to serve in the U.S. Army. Read More	Darroll Henry Henning, son of Henry and Renate Hoppenworth Henning, was born December 2, 1939, at Tripoli, Iowa. He was baptized December 31, 1939, and confirmed April 11, 1954, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. He attended Tripoli High School and left in 1958, to serve in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1965. On July 8, 1962, he was united in marriage with Doris Johnson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner. Over the years, Darroll worked at Huebner Motors, K.C.'s "66", U.B.C. Lumber, Maynard Co-op, Grain Systems, and Pronto, all in Sumner, and Ambrose Auto in Tripoli. He also farmed for a time, was a self-employed carpenter, drove semi, and was a substitute rural mail carrier. He retired fifteen years ago due to health concerns. Darroll's death occurred Thursday, January 20, 2011, at his home in Sumner following a lingering illness. He was seventy-one years old, and had been a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner, where he served on the education board and as a trustee. Among his interests were raising Angus beef cattle, watching television, country music, and spending time on his computer. In addition to his wife, Doris of Sumner, he is survived by two sons, Michael (Kelly) Henning of Sumner and Andrew (Ann Graves) Henning of Fredericksburg; seven grandchildren, Randy Slick, Wade and Garth Brincks, Michael Graves, Cody Henning, and Bailey and Kennedy Galpin; one brother-in-law, Duane Mueller of Dike; several cousins; and special friends, Jeff and Suzie Galpin of Littleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Mueller; and one brother, Virgil Henning. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. George Volkert officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Tripoli at 12:45 p.m. on Monday. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home
