Read More	Darwin "Butch" Gail Sloss May 21, 1942 - June 17, 2021 °•☆°•★°•☆°•★°•☆°•★°•☆°•★°•☆°•★°•☆• Darwin Gail "Butch" Sloss, 79, of Guthrie Center, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the New Homestead. Butch was born on May 21, 1942, to Max and Kathryn Lucille (Hayes) Sloss in Guthrie County, Iowa on the family farm. Butch was the third of thirteen children. He attended country school before going to the Guthrie Center Schools for high school. On March 17, 1962, Butch married Suzette (Suzie) Rollins at the United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center. To this union five children were born; Darby, Darci, Darin, Dusty, and Dea. After Butch's school years he held jobs at the local gas station, grocery store, Franck Plumbing, Rhiners Plumbing, and Guthrie County Hospital. Butch and Suzie were owner-operators of S&B Plants for many years. Butch retired from the Guthrie County Hospital in 1997. He was a fourteen-year member of the Guthrie Center Fire Department, a member of the First Christian Church in Guthrie Center, a volunteer Pee Wee football coach. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law; Kenneth and Genevieve Rollins, sister-in-law; Mary Jo Smith, brothers; Shorty and Larry, sisters; Linda and Glenda, and daughter; Darci Fuller, as well as many aunts and uncles. Butch leaves behind his wife of 59 years; Suzie, children; Darby Sloss (Marianne) and children, Kailey and Marissa of San Diego, CA; Darin Sloss (Carrie) and children, Rylee and Gavin of Guthrie Center; Dusty Sloss (Teresa) and children, Miranda, Sam, Kenneth, Aleesa, and a baby on the way of Guthrie Center; Dea Kress (Justin) and children Hunter and Shay of Guthrie Center; and son-in-law, Shane Fuller and children Savana, Tori, and Michael of Guthrie Center. He will be missed by lifelong friends Jeff and Judy Lyall, siblings; Darrell, Tom, Ted, Don, David, Paul, Nyle, and Kathy Christenson, as well as many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the First Christian Church, Guthrie Center. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
