Description	:	Funeral services will be Wed., May 28, for Darwin Jerome Routier, 82, Arlington, who died on May 24, 2008. The Rev. Bill Hoffman will officiate in Oldham Baptist Church, and burial will be in Oldham City Cemetery. Visitation at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington. Routier was born on March 2, 1926, at Chamberlain to Ernest and Sylvia (Howard) Routier. He grew up and attended school at Kadoka. He married Clara Hill on Oct. 3, 1950, at Kadoka. They lived and worked outside of Kadoka on a ranch until 1954. They moved to Sundance, Wyo., for the summer, and then returned to Kadoka and worked on a ranch until 1959. They moved to Bosque Farms, N.M., where they lived and worked on a dairy farm until 1971. They returned to South Dakota and lived at Nisland, where they worked on a dairy farm until 1987. Then they moved to Wallace and worked on a dairy until retiring. He moved into Golden Living Center in Arlington on May 6. Survivors include three sons, Darwin of Elkton, Clifford (Rose) of McCook, Neb., and Daniel (Embers) of Belle Fourche; three daughters, Janette (Richard) DeKnikker of Oldham, Audrey (Greg) DeKnikker of Belle Fourche, and Darlene (Randall) Chinnow of Hazel; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Frerichs of Rapid City; and a daughter-in-law, Laurie (Terry) Routier Goehring of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; a son, Harold; a brother, Harold; and his parents. Madison Daily Leader 05/27/2008
