In his free time, he loved to bowl. He had Seward's first 300 game in league play and was a member of the Seward Bowling Hall of Fame. He was an avid Husker sports fan. He liked to go to Nebraska... He is a former member of the Seward Jaycees, and the Seward Volunteer Fire Department. Dave passed away on May 5, 2022 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 10 days. He is survived by his brother, Steve Rathje of Lincoln, Nebraska; his sister, Merri (Marc) Barnes of Cripple Creek, Colorado; and nieces and nephews.
