David Ardell Paulson was born on April 13, 1938 to Leonard and Aileen (Brown) Paulson in Charles Mix County, SD. He attended Reynolds School and Platte High School, graduating in 1957. David Ardell Paulson was born on April 13, 1938 to Leonard and Aileen (Brown) Paulson in Charles Mix County, SD. He attended Reynolds School and Platte High School, graduating in 1957. On December 16, 1958 he married Marilyn Judstra. Dave loved sports, especially baseball and played for years on the Platte and Geddes town teams and the Paulson family team. He also played in the South Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournament. Dave was an original member of the South Dakota National Guard in Platte from November of 1956 to January of 1965. He thoroughly loved goose and deer hunting. As a young man he often enjoyed a coyote hunt with his best buds, of which many stories have been passed along. He was involved in the construction of the Platte-Winner Bridge and the Chamberlain Bridge. He loved working construction as a heavy equipment operator and continued doing so until his last heart attack. He married Crystal Obr on February 19, 1983. In 2009 he moved back to Platte and enjoyed his time with his faithful and sole companion, JD. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and his sister.
