| Description | : | David Augustus Parker Jordan, a son of Jonathan Jordan and the former Miss Mary Ann "Polly" Marshall, was born on August 24th 1851, near Cedar Springs in the Smithfield area of Abbeville County, South Carolina. Known by all as Parker, he was one of the prominent merchants and entrepreneurs in the area. In 1896, he founded Glendal Mill, Greenwood's second textile mills; serving as it President until his death. Parker Jordan also served as President of the City Bank and as a member of the board of directors for several leading businesses in South Carolina. |
