Description	:	David Bronson Varner, 75, husband of Faye Laxton Varner, of 100 Sprouse St., Union, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Varner was born in Union, March 14, 1932 the son of the late Beulah Varner. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and was a former member of the Tabernacle Quartet. Mr. Varner was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division having served 18 months in Germany. He was retired from the S.C.... Read More	David Bronson Varner, 75, husband of Faye Laxton Varner, of 100 Sprouse St., Union, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Varner was born in Union, March 14, 1932 the son of the late Beulah Varner. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and was a former member of the Tabernacle Quartet. Mr. Varner was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division having served 18 months in Germany. He was retired from the S.C. Department of Transportation. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Ellis of Union; two sons, David Wayne Varner and wife Beverly, of Spartanburg, and Edward Dwight Varner of Union; two grandsons, Shannon Austin and Travis Austin; and one great-grandson, Caleb Austin. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Robert Branch. Active pallbearers will be Mike Fowler, Mike Austin, Douglas Johnson, Gerald Gregory, Shannon Austin, Travis Austin, Clifford Brown and Dean Brown. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight, Monday, March 19, 2007, night at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home, 100 Sprouse S., Union, S.C.
