Description	:	David B. "Bruce" Hilsabeck, 90, formerly of Holdrege, passed away on April 28, 2011, in Lincoln. Born January 30, 1921, in Holdrege, Neb., to Hale and Fredricka (Lundin) Hilsabeck. World War II U.S. Navy Carrier Pilot, USS Hancock, 5 Air Medals and Navy Unit Commendation. He attended pre-flight school at St. Mary's College, Santa Rosa, CA and received his naval aviator wings during advanced training in Corpus Christi, TX, graduating as an ensign. Bruce and his brother, Frank Hilsabeck were co-owners of Hilsabeck Sporting Goods in Holdrege. Married in Chicago, February 3, 1950, at Chicago Methodist Temple to Margaret L. Straub. Survived by wife Margaret; son and daughter-in-law Dave and Cindy Hilsabeck and children Erin, Andrew and Thomas, Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law Drs. Lynn and Joe Roh, and children Allison, Joseph, and Patrick, Leawood, Kan.; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Kim Hilsabeck, and children Alexandra, Tyler, and Tiffany, Maui, Hawaii; brothers Frank Hilsabeck Sr., Holdrege, Robert Hilsabeck, Lincoln and a host of relatives and friends.
