Description	:	David Coble was born in Wabash County, Indiana. He stood 5'8" Had a dark complexion, gray eyes, and black hair. Before the civil war he worked as a farmer. During the Civil War Coble enlisted in the 8th Indiana Infantry Company I and served through the war. He mustered out 8/3/1865. David Coble, 76 years old and a well known resident of the county died at his home at 969 Columbus Street at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, after a very short illness. During the Civil War Coble enlisted in the 8th Indiana Infantry Company I and served through the war. He mustered out 8/3/1865. David Coble, 76 years old and a well known resident of the county died at his home at 969 Columbus Street at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, after a very short illness. Death was due to lagrippe and pneumonia from which he suffered for only eight days. From the very beginning of his illness, no hopes were entertained for his recovery, and death was expected at any time the last three days. David Coble, was born October 8, 1841 in Darke County, Ohio, when 13 years old, he came with his uncle, David Coble, to this county and located near Somerset. In August, 1861, he enlisted as a volunteer in the 8th Indiana Regiment, Company I and served four years, one month and eighteen days. He was mustered out at the close of the war. In the fall of 1868, he was united in marriage to Hester A. Deal. They became the parents of seven children, three of whom having died in infancy. He was a Christian for many years and was always a devoted worker for its cause. He was also a member of the International Bible Students' association of this city. He leaves a widow and four children, two sons, William Coble of this city, and Harvey Coble of Benton Harbor, Michigan, two daughters Mrs. John Miller of near Somerset and Mrs. Ovid Unger of this city, one half sister, Mrs. Susana Nusbaum of this city and eleven grandchildren, to mourn his death. The funeral will be held Saturday morning. Burial will be in the Ogan Cemetery, south of Wabash. The services will be conducted at the residence on Columbus Street at 10 o'clock.
